Phantom bucks

I know everyone has seen them, but they are never there.

You scan and see a deer with the naked eye, you bring up your binoculars and “POOF” it turns into a clump of weeds, a fallen branch or some other vegetation. I don’t know how these sneaky critters do it.

I think the guys that helped build the stealth fighter are deer hunters and was inspired from them…

I call them Phantom Bucks.

So why does this phenomena happen? Is it that we want to see a deer so bad that our eyes plays trick on us? Is it that God gave deer great camouflage that we jump at the chance if we see something out of the ordinary? Or could it be that they are real?

People claim that they have had encounters with Bigfoot, UFOs, the Loch Ness Monster, the New Jersey Devil, etc.. why can’t there be a phantom buck? It is almost impossible to get good quality video and film on all these enigmas.

Just like the elusive Phantom Buck.

Think about it, this could be the solution to the crop circle mystery!

Here is a poem by Elton Mellum about the creature

A least a hundred hunters saw him

Some even got off a shot

Others swore they hit him

Fantasy, likely as not

I listened to their stories

For a least the hundredth time

He should have so many bullets in him

There’d be no room for mine

Some said a four by four

Others said a five by five

So one thing we know for sure

It that half of them lied

Every year they see him

Where ever he does hide

He’s been out there so long

You’d think by now he’d died

Just last week they’d tracked him

Looking for blood and hair

But true to his legend

It’s seems he was never there

So now I’ll have to hear it

For still another year

About how they passed up a doe

To get that phantom deer

I just know it’ll never end

As long as they go out there

But please God could you help

Get someone chased by a bear

That should get us a break

And perhaps with a little luck

We’ll go a day or two

I hope everyone has a safe and eventful deer season!
