Rambling Rant

As many of you know I am a member of the Outdoor Maniacs. I am the newest member and I am amazed at what Steve has done in a short amount of time with this team.Steve and I both were at a low point when we met. He went out by himself  and secured sponsors, REAL sponsors! Many Outdoor teams lay the claim of having sponsors and they get a discount, not Steve. We have received product, QUALITY product that will help us to get the best possible video and game to pass it along to our viewers.

Some or I should say most of these outdoor teams are based on ego, not Steve, when we 1st met we were fighting who was going to be BEHIND the camera.

Another person I would like to give props to is Ron Eaton or I like to call him RonE. This man has his own gig going with Taggin’ Out hunting and does film for him, but more importantly he wants to film his family and friends. He already wants to film my hunt, I might take him up on the offer but I like to do self film hunts.

There are millions of these teams popping up all over the place, I just would want to know why. I have a feeling  is easy to film and the technology, it’s there that anybody can film hunts. I think it is a good thing if it is done in good taste. We as hunters are still a minority in our society. We as film hunt dudes need to be stewards and show what we do is a good thing. We also need to help each other out and not be greedy. Lets face it only a small few get to be in the majors so we should try to help each other out instead of keeping our cards close to your chest. This only alienates you and they’re is power in numbers.

Let me give you an example. I was approach to do a review on a camera arm. I had to decline because the Outdoor Maniacs already had a camera arm. I called some people and told them about the company and maybe they can test it out and get their name out there. I hope other teams will do the same.

This is a small community and a small market to work in, help each other out, find another group to help you out to film and find sponsers.
