When men fall down, do they not get up? When a man turns away, does he not return? – Jeremiah 8:4
I was reading the bible this morning and this scripture hit me like a ton of bricks. I have seen people that get slapped in face with dissapointment and simple give up.
Now for my rant.
Failures do not measure a man. Failures measure a man’s decisions, but failures in and of themselves are nothing more than pathways to success. Failures can often teach you more about yourself, and about God’s nature. Successes you keep moving forward, not often relection. Failures force you to stop and think it through.
Failures do not measure a man … especially when that man is one who gets up from the deck and presses forward. In fact, pressing on is exactly what God intended us to do, because pressing on is the righteous action. It’s spiritually “unnatural” for a man to go down and stay down. Rising up to face the future is where we find God’s great grace. Faithfully moving forward is the actual stage where the journey is really meant to play out, for it’s in that journey that we discover just how big this God of ours truly is … yesterday, today, and forever.
Failures do not measure a man, or I would be as tall as Shaq! Remember to walk with God on a daily basis in good times, bad times and normal average days.
