Breakdowning the rut, made easy

I’m gonna bust out some facts and my opinion about the most favorite time of the year, the RUT.

Here is a formula about deer and their happy time and mine too.

The rut begins to take form at the fall equinox.

The equinox happens each year at two specific moments in time (rather than two whole days), when there is a location on the Earth’s equator where the center of the sun can be observed to be vertically overhead, occurring around March 20/21 and September 22/23 each year.

Add the moon cycles

The moon cycles is when the bachelor groups start to seprate and make territories and getting that neck big and puffy.

then add 14 days

I believe this happens because after the second moon the does start to become fertile and when they urine the bucks are smellin it and starting to chase deer but the does aren’t ready yet.

Then it is a 2 week period that bucks go Coo coo

Autumn Equinox + 2 Full Moon Cycles + 10 Days = 1st Day of Rut + 14 Days = Estimated Rut Cycle

Again, this is a loose formula and why I believe this happens. I hope this helps you predict the hunters own 2 week holiday.
