2 hours after the appointment:
Well I had one of the best orthopedic doctor in the business and he said I need one more shot, a day of rest and then maybe surgery if this shot doesn’t work in a year or so.
I did FINALLY get some x-rays done, no spurs, calcium deposits or cancer, that’s good…it only took…2 YEARS!!!!
I went through with the shot of cortisone and some other stuff he called a anti inflammatory cocktail. I’m starting the stretching exercises…AGAIN. It felt amazing for about an hour, then back to the same pain. The doctor said it will take the shot 4 to 6 weeks to take full effect, if not, then we can take the next step, if this doesn’t work…AGAIN! Anybody see the movie GroundHog Day? I think I’m in the sequel.
I would love to have a doctor or heath insurance agent come into my work and treat them like they treat me. It’ll go something like this…
Me “Can I help you?”
Client X “Yeah I have a leak under my sink.”
Me “I’m gonna give you this duct tape for $45, it should work.”
Client X “Thanks”
(Client X comes back)
Client X “Hey that duct tape didn’t work on my sink, it’s still dripping.”
Me “o.k., here’s some more duct tape and a bucket, Wrap more duct tape around the pipe, if it doesn’t work the bucket will catch the water, when the bucket is full of water empty it, the bucket will cost $100.”
Client X ” Well shouldn’t I get a new pipe?”
Me “No, you haveta wait to see if this works…come back in 4 months and maybe I’ll get ya some pipes.”
Yep, in a perfect world…
Day 2
No pain, see if this is going to work, time to do streching…yep still no pain.
Day 3
Really want to shoot my bow, but don’t want to push it, need to wait another month for that, docs orders. Still have a little numbness in my fingers through.
Day 4
No pain, hope this isn’t masking the pain…need to write about something else…Duct tape rocks, hope it sticks for a while!!!!
Day 5…. Had a busy day at work, I think I over did it, have a slight pain today, not where the tennis elbow is though,…need to trust the doctors.
Funny comparison not so funny situation – hope you get better soon!
