What is with the title of this blog?
Well, in one my previous blogs QandA I answered a question about how I look forward to 3 or 4 blogs and didn’t mention them. Well, now I am. I don’t know why I didn’t mention them, but in this blog I’ll tell you why I like reading and viewing them.
BLOGS
Nancy Jo Adams: Shenanigans From the Field Nancy Jo has a talent for writing taking you with her on her adventures and explaining it if you were right there along with her. When she does product review it is honest, and she looks for the same thing you are looking for in a product, she also writes for Women’s Outdoor News. Guys, you need to check it out because of the product she reviews. It’s o.k. I won’t tell your buddies you read a girl magazine, because if they were smart they would be reading it too.
Carrie Zylka: Fistful of arrows/bowcast Carrie, or Z girl as I like to call her is on the bowcast posse. She has only has been shooting her bow for a couple of years but the bowcast crew seen a talent and went after her, that tells you something right there, the best archery site on the web taking on a newcomer. Her perspective and outlook on the sport is second to none. She absorbs information like a sponge and then writes it down in a way that anyone can get information from her blog. I have picked up some bad habits along the years and Z girl has exposed them in her writing, I have since corrected them and I am a better shooter for this.
Art Summers, Simply Outdoors , Art is a guy that is from my home state of Michigan and seems to have his hand on the pulse of hunters and fishermen. He writes about journeys in the woods, his life with his family and news about Michigan hunting and fishing news. They have a good thing going over there in the west side of the state, with him writing and his brothers video taping. A quality group of guys that I am a little jealous with their family get togethers they can talk business too. That is a good segway into my next passion, vidcasts.
VIDCASTS
Jeff Summers, brother of Art. He doesn’t blog but has his own vidcast for Simply Outdoors. He is alot like me that he enjoys just as much filming people’s hunts as he enjoys hunting, almost. He and his crew over at S.O. is down to earth and has some really good footage . There were rumors that Jeff and I was starting a project together and we never even discussed it. We might work together sometime but he is doing his thing and I am doing mine…….
Steve Richerson, maybe I am bias about Steve’s footage because we are such good friends, but I feel he has a talent as a hunter and as a videoagrapher. Yes, we had a project called Outdoor Maniacs, and I still get emails about that crew, but things happen that is too personal to explain why we disbanded. We remain close friends and will help each other out at a drop of a hat. He is still video taping with Bowhunter Planet and in my opinion, is the best they got over there, even though his time in the woods is limited now.
Now you know my favorites please check them out and support them. They all have talent and passion, I know I said that alot in this blog but it’s true for each and every one of them. They also bring a different spin on the outdoors and how they see it.
Now I think of it, the title could have been Bowhunters from the field shoots arrows outdoors, but that is too obvious !
I just want to wish EVERYONE a Merry CHRISTmas and a blessed and bountiful new year!
