Georgia It is illegal for a chicken to cross the road.
Michigan– It is illegal to tie a crocodile to a fire hydrant.
Ohio– It’s illegal to catch mice without a hunting license.
Tennessee It is illegal to use a lasso to catch a fish.
Wyoming You may not take a picture of a rabbit during the month of June.
Anti hunting organizations, would love to have more laws like this. Dove hunting, the #1 game bird in the world is outlawed in Michigan. Ted Nugent once had some good quotes. “In Ohio the dove is a game bird, when it crosses the border to Michigan it turns into a song bird…” another good quote from Uncle Ted “They say doves are to small to eat…then outlaw shrimp.”
HSUS spent an estimated 5 million dollars to outlaw dove hunting in Michigan. The ads were disturbing to say the least, numerous organizations came to ban the #1 game bird in the world. I was appalled by these ads and I’m a hunter. The ad was someone shooting a dove and it was flopping around suffering. Does this happened? Sure it does, but it isn’t the norm, like they perceive it is. The Antis don’t bring up the food on the hunters table, the family bonding time and the economic impact that happened when there WAS dove hunting. SCI, I heard was the only one that came to bat to fight this with the almighty dollar, it wasn’t enough.
So, if you hear about these “stupid laws” think about the dove ban in Michigan. It is a dumb law from ignorant people and clever ads to shock the general public. The hunting organizations need to do the same. Fight fire with the truth. We have tons of hunting orgainazations, they need to not only help promote hunting and fishing, but to protect it.
