Give it a rest!

When senseless violence hits the presses it’s just a matter of minutes on any social media site there’s a flooding in about gun laws, pro or against, this made me sick. I’m disappointed in my conservative brothern.

I often say the left side is ignorant. Not this time. The pro gun community pounces on it too like a dog on a dropped juicy 2 pound t-bone.

Not that the left side spewed their propaganda, they did, but I expected that.

Why? To get a one up? To prove a point? Whatever it was it was in bad taste and wasn’t the time to talk about politics.

Over 20 people lost their lives, mostly children, in a recent tragedy and you want to go on a social media site an express your political views?

Shame on you.

People need to start to think on what they post. I seen numerous posts, or copy and paste posts they didn’t even talk about the fallen or their families.

Do people honestly think that when they post something on a social media site that it will somehow change people’s minds or the way they think? I know many people who do post don’t have friends on the other side of the fence. Is it so people will reply on their post justify their views?

I don’t know but I lost a lot of respect of people I have known for a long time.

I’m not the only one that thinks this here is a liberal view:
“…and additionally, for all of you deciding that this is the perfect time to start posting either pro- OR anti-gun opinions….. STOP! Just stop for one day. This is a time to mourn the loss of children, not jump on political bandwagons. Please… for one day… give it a rest”

Here is a conservative view:
I just got the opportunity to see what was going on in the FB world today, and I must say I’m disgusted. People using today’s tragedy to defend their political beliefs, “blame it on the guns” not on the sick, evil person that did this. Then we have the “how did God let this happen” people, your ignorance is repulsive. God didn’t do this, furthermore if you don’t thank God for the good things in li
fe, you have no right to blame him for the bad. You don’t get to pick and choose when you want there to be a God. It’s called free will, look it up. So instead of using this horrific tragedy as a step up to your soap box, hug your family, kiss your kids and be thankful for every second you have with them. That is all, goodnight.

These 2 people are as far apart on the political fence as it goes and agree.

Now the media and their bloodlust.
I don’t care if your black, white liberal or conservative, with the recent unnecessary violence that happened we as a society is sick of the media and the way they conduct their business.

Morgan Freeman’s brilliant take on what happened last week :

“You want to know why. This may sound cynical, but here’s why.

It’s because of the way the media reports it. Flip on the news and watch how we treat the Batman theater shooter and the Oregon mall shooter like celebrities. Dylan Klebold and Eric Harris are household names, but do you know the name of a single *victim* of Columbine? Disturbed
people who would otherwise just off themselves in their basements see the news and want to top it by doing something worse, and going out in a memorable way. Why a grade school? Why children? Because he’ll be remembered as a horrible monster, instead of a sad nobody.

CNN’s article says that if the body count “holds up”, this will rank as the second deadliest shooting behind Virginia Tech, as if statistics somehow make one shooting worse than another. Then they post a video interview of third-graders for all the details of what they saw and heard while the shootings were happening. Fox News has plastered the killer’s face on all their reports for hours. Any articles or news stories yet that focus on the victims and ignore the killer’s identity? None that I’ve seen yet. Because they don’t sell. So congratulations, sensationalist media, you’ve just lit the fire for someone to top this and knock off a day care center or a maternity ward next.

You can help by forgetting you ever read this man’s name, and remembering the name of at least one victim. You can help by donating to mental health research instead of pointing to gun control as the problem. You can help by turning off the news.”

God Bless.
