Memorial day: Thank you.

Something that popped in my head and heart

“Is Memorial Day a Hardware sale?

A good price on a garden pail ?

Did the honered give their limbs, lives, and sinew

For chicken, steaks, and barbecue ?

Cowards protesting on sacred ground,

While the brave are crippled and wheelchair bound

Did Service men die in a living  hell

For endless rows of cars to sell ?

For drunks, accidents and long traffic jams,

My heros perished in  forgeign lands.

I’ ll remember what this day means,

The Living,The Dead and The In- Between. ”
